New Antenna on Virginia Peak!
News - Repeater News
Monday, 12 September 2011 20:55

Pat, W7DED reports he has replaced the 147.030 with a new Telewave ANT150F6-2, 6 dB gain omni directional antenna. This replaces the Telewave folded dipole that only had about 2 dB of gain and was somewhat directional (offset pattern) that was oriented East.  We lost our coverage to Winnemucca, Susanville, and the Black Rock Desert as a result.

The new antenna was one that the club had in it's inventory but was broken. "I managed to repair it so it could be put back in service.  It's rated to 150 mph, so I hope it will survive the hostile environment at Virginia Peak" Pat said. Coverage should be greatly improved with this new antenna. Thanks Pat!
